Indian Maids in Singapore

Compare to Indonesian and Filipino maid, the number of Indian maids in Singapore are not significant.

However, they are quite popular among the Indian families in Singapore.

One of the natural advantage of Indian maid is their ability to communicate well with their Indian employers.

Majority of the population in Singapore are Chinese who are also versed in English, but Filipino maid, Indonesian maid or Myanmar maid cannot communicate well in English or Chinese, and this has caused many problem in the employee-employer relationship.

For Indian Family, many of them are able to speak Tamil or some other language that are popular in India. For these families, Indian maid is their number 1 choice because most of these maids have no problem in communicating in Tamil.

Hiring Transfer Maid From Maid Agencies

1. The transfer maid has worked in Singapore for some times, she will be able to communicate better with you than a new maid.

2. The maid you have employed through transfer had get used to the lifestyle here and has a better understanding of the expectation of the employers in area such as hygiene and personal conduct. She may have overcome her home-sickness and culture shock and will therefore be more focused in her work.

3. After working here for some time, the maid has picked up skill in handling appliance and other skills required to do typical tasks in Singapore. Employers can therefore save time on training the maid to fit into the new living conditions and environment.

4. You can interview the maid in person. This is much better than employing a new maid who is still in her home country.

5. Transfer Maid in Maid agencies is not necessary bad like what many have said, they are being transferred may be due to previous employer do not need the maid service anyone, not because the maid has problem.

Myanmar Maid in Singapore

In recent years, Myanmar maid become more and more popular among the Singaporean employers. This may be due to the fact some maid agencies find it hard to get maid from Indonesia and Philippine.

Myanmar maid is cheapest among the popular choices. Other than having a lower monthly salary, some employers also find them easy-going and have better attitude towards work.

However, maids from Myanmar tend to have poor communication skill and they are usually not properly trained before coming to Singapore. If you have the patient to train them the necessary skills to do the household job, I think myanmar maid is not a bad choice.

Filipino Maids in Singapore

1 out of 5 households in Singapore has a domestic helpers. These domestic helpers are from South East countries like Philippine, Indonesia and Myanmar.

Filipino maid is popular choice among Singaporean employers due to the better English communication skill, but their monthly salary can be higher by 100 dollars as compared to maid from other countries.

Other than higher monthly salary, some maid employers also find them hard to control and poor attitude towards work.

Despite, Filipino maid is still the most popular choice for Singapore employers. After all, communication is most important for many as maid is someone you are going to meet everyday.

Name Teddy Meaning

"Teddy" will remind many of Teddy bear. Probably because of Teddy Bear, Teddy is not a common baby boy name.

Teddy means "Gift of God" which I think it is very suitable for those who have religious belief. Origin of Teddy is Greek.
