It is very irritating and stressful for many of us to see this contradicting result. Unfortunately, this indeed often happen to women regardless of whether the women are trying to conceive or not.
Should I visit gynaecologist now?
1. If you are very stressed about this or worry about Ectopic pregnancy, it is recommended that you see the gynaecologist immediately. They will perform blood test, urine test and ultrasound to confirm whether you are pregnant or not. Even you are not pregnant, you may still need doctor to give you medicine to regulate your period.
2. If you are also experiencing spotting, but you do not think it is period, you are also advised to see doctor immediately. Spotting can be a sign of pregnancy and it also indicates a possible miscarriage. Hence, if this happens to you, you should seek doctor's help immediately.
3. If you do not experienced any sleep problem or increased stress and you did not take any trip in the past month or exercises too much, but your period has been delayed for a week or more, it is also recommended that you seek doctor's help.

Causes of this conflicting result

1.TEST METHOD

  • Test too early
You may be pregnant, but you took the test too early. Your egg may have been fertilized, but your body have not produced enough Human Chorionic Gonadotropin(HCG) for the test strip to measure. Lower HCG in your body means the test kit will show negative result. It is recommended that you carry out the test at least two days again.
  • Method
You may be pregnant, the method used by you is wrong and cause it to show negative result. You may not dip the test strip into the urine well or did not hold the test strip well in the urine. You may have waited too long or too short to see the result.
To avoid this, you should follow the instruction come with the test kit strictly and like to confirm again on the next day using your first urine after wake up in the morning
  • Urine sample
You may be pregnant, but the urine sample is not perfect for the test. If you have drunk a lot of water of other fluid before carrying the test, the HCG level in your urine may have been diluted, this causes the result to show negative. To avoid this, you should consider carrying the test using the first urine sample after you wake up.

2.IRREGULARLY CYCLE

  • Stress
You may not be pregnant and it is the stress or sleep problem causes your period to be delayed. Traveling and exercising can also contribute to this. You may like to visit the gynaecologist who may give a complete diagnosis and give you pill to regulate your hormone.
  • Pill
f you are on birth control pills, the pill itself can cause the period to disappear. If you have any concern, you should call your doctor.
This article should be treated as information, not medical advice.

Period or Pregnancy - Common Questions

Question 1: My last period was January 21st, based on ovulation kit, I ovulated on February 4th. I also had unprotected sex that day (more than once) I was suppose to start my period again February 18th, my period is now 25 days late. I have taken 3 pregnancy test but all comes out negative. But I have been very sleepy all day and feel nauseous. My stomach has been hurting I have had milky white discharge. I think that is all about the symptoms. I really do think I am pregnant, but this morning at 7 I woke up cramping (lasted about 10 minutes) like I was on my period, so I went to the bathroom. When I wiped there was light pink blood. I have not bled or cramped since then. Anyone can suggest me what to do next?
Answer: Your period has been delayed by so many days, this can be a symptom that you are pregnant. Your cramp that lasted about 10 minutes and spotting are all reliable symptoms that you may be pregnant. For others symptoms you mean like fatigue, they can be symptoms of both pregnancy and period.
I suggest you to visit a doctor to do a ultrasound scan first, this may be followed by a blood test. These two should be able to tell you whether you are pregnant or your period has just been irregular.

Baby Development at Tenth Month

Speech and Language Development: At tenth month, your baby may be able to call Mom and Dad intentionally. But some babies may need two or three more months before they are able to do so, this is normal. If you encourage your baby and give him some guide, he can follow you to utter some simple words like dog, car or two. Of course, baby's speech at this time is fast and unclear as your baby is still learning the language. At this time, you must listen to your baby very carefully and respond to whatever he utters.
Movement or motor skill: Baby at tenth month has better coordination for motion of his body, hands, fingers, arms and feet. He may stand up slowly until his body is fully upright by holding onto the fence or rails of his bed. At this time, if you hold his hand, he can stride his little feet and walk a few steps. Hand movements are more delicate and better coordinated; he is skilled in picking up small items or releasing them. If you put him on the staircases, he is able to climb up a few stairs.
Emotional and social development: Baby at tenth month may pull your clothes to attract your attention. He will also take the initiative to reach out to other kids, but he will show favor towards older kids. Baby from now on will become more and more self-conscious and may become "disobedient". He starts to find out that you tell him "no" to touch certain things that may pose danger. But even if he can understand your command, he will still act in accordance with his own intent. It is suggested that parents start to reason with your kid. When you say "no" to him or her, try to explain why you do not allow him to touch certain objects or do certain things.

Constipation in Children

Confirmation of constipation in Children

Some parents start to worry about constipation in their children when their children do not poop in a day. This worry in fact may not be necessary.
Occasionally, some healthy children may not poop in three consecutive days.
Number of times of defecation is not sufficient to indicate whether you child is suffering from constipation or not, you also need to look at the shape of stool in order to confirm the constipation.
If your child’s stool is dry and hard and he experiences pain during pooping, this can then suggest that your child is experiencing constipation.
Babies that suffer from constipation may also demonstrate tiredness, bloating and loss of appetite.

Causes of constipation

1 Insufficient fiber in diet
Insufficient fiber in diet is the cause in most cases of constipation. Fiber can stimulate the bowel movement. When there is little fiber in food to stimulate bowl movement, constipation can then occur.
Drinking too little water will cause the stool be hard and dry, this can result in constipation.
2. Lack of exercise
Exercise will help food to move quickly through the digestive system. Lack of exercises will result in less bowel movement and therefore can lead to constipation.
3. Psychological factors
Change of living environment, such as moving to strange places can cause stress to the child and this may lead to constipation.
Your child might have experienced pain during pooping in the past; fear of pain may cause him to delay the pooping. When stool is kept inside his body, water in the stool will be absorbed, this can cause the stool be hard and dry and therefore constipation.
4. Lack of training
If you had not trained your child on pooping, defecation reflex in your child will not be formed and this means that your child is not going to poop at a regular timing.

Prevent constipation

1. Poop at a fixed time
You should train your child to poop at a fixed time every day, best time for it will be in the morning after first milk feeding or breastfeeding. At the beginning, you need to be patient and give your child at least 10 minutes to sit on pottery and encourage him or her to poop. It will be good if there is something that your child can hold onto so that he can have more strength to push the stool out.
Once this habit is established, the defection reflex will be formed and this can help your baby to poop at a fixed time every day.
2 Drink enough water
The obvious sign of constipation is the hard and dry stool. To prevent constipation, you can encourage your child to drink more water. Try to have some water in between two milk feedings or breastfeeding.
Most babies dislike water as it is tasteless, but parents should not stop feeding babies water just because babies will not drink after one or two sips of water.
3. Ensure enough fiber in diet
Fiber can promote bowel movement which can help one to prevent constipation. The best sources of fiber include wheat bread and cereals. Fruits such as apples, pears, grapes, and vegetables such as broccoli, peas are also rich in fiber.

Treatment of constipation

You should seek medical help if your child does not poop for more than 3 days and he also suffer from tiredness, bloating and loss of appetite.
If your child looks fine, you can choose to massage your child to relieve the constipation.
Massage
Put your palms flat and down on your child’s navel and rub gently in a clockwise manner. Doing this can speed up the bowel movement which can help to relieve constipation.

Whatever method you are going to use, it is not going to be easy when you want your baby to kick out this habit. When you take away the pacifier or hide it, it is almost definite that he or she will cry and get frustrated. Parents should be patient when this happen and do not give up or give in or stop half way. It is recommended that parents try the method below on a weekend so that you do not need to worry about work next day.

2. Break Pacifier Habit - Hide the pacifiers or throw them away

You should hide all the pacifiers at home or simply throw them away. When your baby looks for it, you should tell him or her that the pacifiers have been stolen or lost. Your baby will become frustrated or cry. But the situation should improve after a few days, by then, he or she will accept the fact the pacifiers are stolen.

You can cut a small hole on the nipple of the pacifier. When your baby puts the pacifier into his or her mouth, he or she may feel differently and she or he may spit it out. After several attempts, the baby may no longer like the pacifier any more.
