There are about 48 child care centres at Tampines, a mature town in the eastern part of Singapore.

5 such child care centres are managed by PCF, 4 by My First Skool, 3 by My World Preschool.

Other child care centres include THE ACORN CHILD CARE, THE SALVATION ARMY TAMPINES CHILD CARE CENTRE, KIDDY ARK CHILDCARE & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, LITTLE BEEZ PLAYSKOOL and ASPIRATION CHILD CARE CENTRE. 

School fee for MY WORLD PRESCHOOL is at $749 which is very close to those charged by My First Skool. PCF child care centres charge a fee of about $650 for Singapore citizen children. The fee is much higher for foreigner at $975.

School fee at VICTORIA MONTESSORI SCHOOLHOUSE is $1088 for full day child care, for BRIGHT JUNIORS is $984. THE LITTLE SKOOL-HOUSE INTERNATIONAL is $1284 for full day child care.

Sengkang is fast-developing town in Singapore and it is probably the only town that has more than 80 child care centres in Singapore.

15 of these child care centres are managed by PCF and 10 are operated by My First Skool- A NTUC related child care institution.Other players include DISCOVERY GARDEN,HAPPY CAMPER, SGM LITTLE KIDZ, BERRY TREE PRESCHOOL and AMAZING STAR MONTESSORI HOUSE.

Some child care centres operated by PCF charge Singapore citizen, Permanent residents and foreigner differently-a trend seen after 2011 General Election. For example, in one of the PCF child care centres, foreigner needs to 975, permanent residents 812.5 and Singapore citizen 650 for one month full day child care. 

Child care centres that charges more than $1000 for one month child care include CHERIE HEARTS HOLDINGS at $1048, CAMBERLEY INTERNATIONAL PRE-SCHOOL at $1500.DISCOVERY GARDEN at $1000.PICKET FENCE at $1177, MODERN MONTESSORI PRE SCHOOL CENTRE at $1064.

There are 28 child care centres at Sembawang, a town where I stay.

Because of the growing number of children in this area, it is not easy to book a child care place for my child.

The 28 child care centres include 3 by My First Skool, 2 PCF child care centres. The rest includes ADMIRAL HILL PRESCHOOL,CARE CORNER CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, GLORY JOY CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE,PAT'S SCHOOLHOUSE  and HAPPY BRAINY KIDZ IN WONDERLAND. 

There are a few child care centres charging parents more than $1000 for a month of full day child care, this includes STAR LEARNERS MONTESSORI, HAPPY BRAINY KIDZ IN WONDERLAND, CARPE DIEM KIDZ PLAYHOUSE, ADMIRAL HILL PRESCHOOL.

Punggol is new town in Singapore, with a relatively small, but young population. There are 13 child care centres in this area.

About half of the child care centres are managed by My First Skool. The rest includes LOVINGKIDS CHILDCARE, BRIGHT KIDS SCHOOL HOUSE PTE LTD. and GENIUS SCHOOL HOUSE. 

My First Skool charges parents $706.2 for full day child care. None of the child care centres charges more than $1000 in this area. This is probably due to lower rental in this area. 

Highest child care fee is by ECOKIDD CHILDCARE PRIVATE LIMITED which charges $930 for one month of full day child care.

In Pasir Ris, Singapore, there are 31 child care centres that offer full day child care service to family which both husband and wife work to make a living. 

3 of these child care centres are managed by My First Skool-a National Trade Union Cooperation linked organization. 2 are operated by PAP Community Foundation. Child care centre in City Central

There are about 40 childcare centres located at the city central of Singapore.

There is not dominant kindergarten in this area. The 40 kindergartens are mostly made up of kindergartens which has built up a relatively good names, this includes but not limit to ADVENTURELAND KIDZ LLP, STAR LEARNERS, PAT'S SCHOOLHOUSE and ICHIBAN MONTESSORI CHILDCARE CENTRE. 

Because of higher rentals and a good brand, the child care centres in central charge a very high fee. It is rare to see child care centre charge below $1000 for a month for full day child care, My First Skool, LIFE CHILD CARE CENTRE are two of those which charges less than $1000.

Fees that are higher than $1500 are common. This includes BRIGHTON MONTESSORI INTERNATIONAL PRE-SCHOOL at $1893, ROSEMARY HALL (ROBINSON) at $1650 and PAT'S SCHOOLHOUSE at $1797.

Maid Agency

Because of its fast pace of life, there is a huge demand for maids in Singapore and this helps to create about 300 to 500 maid agencies in Singapore together with many jobs opportunities.

In Singapore, the maid agencies are ruled by the Ministry of Manpower. The Ministry of Manpower monitor these maid agencies quite closely, looking at their number of transactions, reporting their business performance to the consumers in order to help consumer making a wiser choice. If a maid agency violate some guidelines, they will get punished by the authority. 

Despite this, some small maid agencies still violate some of the rules set by the Ministry and they have a way to reduce the impact on it. These maid agencies usually register a few name. When one of them is banned by the governing authority, they will change the name to another. Probably because of this, in the Employment directory of the Ministry of Manpower, there are more than 1000 maid agencies although many of them are not active in business at all.

In this article, Choa Chu Kang also include Yew Tee, probably a town that is further away from the Singapore city centre. 

There are 42 child care centres in this town, 3 by My First Skool and 7 managed by PCF, others include GREENERY CHILDCARE CENTRE, IYAD PERDAUS CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, KIDDY CAMPUS, and WHIZLAND MONTESSORI PTE. LTD.

Probably because of its distance from city centre, it is rare for child care centre to charge more than $1000 for full day child care. Child care centres that charges a relatively higher fee include SCHOOL HOUSE BYTHEGARDEN, ACEKIDZ @ WORK, MULBERRY LEARNING ACADEMY which charges fee around $1000. 

Similar to many other PCF child care centres which adopt different fees for Singapore citizen, permanent resident and foreigner, Child care centres in this area charges citizen $650 for full day child care, charge permanent $813 and foreigner $975 for the same service.

Language factor in choosing maid

It is no doubt that maid from the Philippine is most popular in Singapore.

Singapore is a diverse countries with three major races: Chinese, Malay and Indian. Although they can speak the common official language-English, people of different races can speak at least another language-the mother tongue.
As people from Chinese-speaking countries or territories are not allowed to work as maids in Singapore, ability to speak English will be an important consideration for chinese employers when they are interviewing the maid. This is the reason why the Filipino maids tend to the highest demand maids in Singapore as the majority of the population in Singapore is Chinese.
For Malay, it is relatively easy for them to pick maid. It is very likely for them to pick Indonesian maids who not only can communicate with them easily, also share common religion. It is very unlikely for them to pick Filipino maid as they speak different language and have different religions.
For Indian families in Singapore, they will intend to hire Indian maids although some indian families in the end choose Filipino maids who speak better English.

The child care centres that charges more than 1000 for full day child care centre include LITTLE WONDERS MONTESSORI CHILDCARE, MODERN MONTESSORI PRESCHOOL CENTRE and CAMBRIDGE CDC. 

In general, school fee charged by the child care centres are generally low compared to those child care centres in other areas in Singapore.

There are 38 child care centres in Bishan, a booming town that is well connected by public transport in Singapore.

Full day childcare fee at PCF child care centres is around 650 while My First Skool at 674.1.

Child care fee at this town vary significantly from one to another. At UNITED WORLD PRESCHOOL, full day child care fee is at $1650 while some PCF child care centres only charges a fee of $500

Like PCF child care centres in other area, some PCF child care centres also charge a different fee for foreigner, permanent resident as compared to Singapore citizens.

Child Care Centres at Ang Mo Kio

There are altogether 50 child care centres at Ang Mo Kio, a relatively old town in located at the centre of Singapore. 

8 of these school are operated by MY FIRST SKOOL and 5 are managed by PCF-the largest two operator of pre-school education institution.

Some of the big names in this area include CHERIE HEARTS , BRIGHTON MONTESSORI CENTRES and PAT'S SCHOOLHOUSE. Of course, all these school charges a very high school fee,  1861.8 for full day childcare at PAT'S SCHOOLHOUSE and 920 at CHERIE HEARTS.

Some of the PCF childcare centres in this area charges a different fee for foreigner, permanent resident and Singapore citizen, this is a measure by the institution to give Singapore citizen more benefits. For example, PCF SPARKLETOTS TECK GHEE (BLK 310A) charges Singapore citizen $642 for full day child care, but $963 for foreigner for same service.

Kindergartens at Woodlands

There are 29 kindergartens in woolands, the regional centre in the northern part of Singapore.

19 of these kindergartens are managed by PCF-PAP Community Foundation. Other kindergartens include New Life Kindergarten, Little Treasures Kindergarten and Kinderland Kindergarten (Woodlands). 

PCF kindergartens charges mostly $141, with a few charges parents lower. 

In other kindergartens, highest school fee is charged by Kinderland at $639.25 which is located at the Civic centre at woodlands. The lowest is charged by An - Nur Mosque Kindergarten at $85 for a term.

Kindergartens at Toa Payoh

Toa Payoh is a mature town with an ageing population, this may explain why it has only 10 kindergartens. 

10 Kindergartens include 6 PCF-managed kindergartens, the rest includes Jessin Kindergarten and Ecokidd Kindergarten @ Toa Payoh.

School fee for PCF kindergartens range from $105 to $130 which should be considered very cheap. 

Highest school fee is charged by Ecokidd Kindergarten @ Toa Payoh which costs parents $375 to enroll their children for kindergarten 1 and kindergarten 2.

Kindergartens at Tampines

There are altogether 29 kindergartens in Tampines, Singapore, a mature town in eastern part of Singapore.

15 of these kindergartens are managed by PCF, the rest includes one MOE kindergarten,Iman Kindergarten (Tampines), Soka Kindergarten and Preschool Learning Academy @Temasek Polytechnic.

The school fee for PCF kindergartens is between $140 and $170 for kindergarten 1 and kindergarten 2. The MOE kindergarten charges a school fee of $150.

In the private sector, highest school fee is charged by Prodigy Preschool at $650 while the lowest goes to Mahad Al - Nasry Kindergarten at $130.

There are about 10 kindergartens in Serangoon North, an area that is located between Ang Mo Kio, Serangoon and Hougang. 

5 out these 10 kindergartens are managed by PCF while the remaining includes MRC Kindergarten (Serangoon North), Al - Istiqamah Mosque Kindergarten and St. Vincent De Paul Kindergarten.

For PCF kindergartens, the school fee ranges from $120 to $155, highest is charged by PCF Serangoon Blk 141. 

Lowest school fee in this area is charged by St. Vincent De Paul Kindergarten which only costs parents $98 to enroll their children there for a term. 

Highest school fee in this area is charged by MRC Kindergarten (Serangoon North) which costs parents $380 to enroll their children there.

Kindergartens in Serangoon are mostly private owned with only 2 of the 17 kindergartens there are managed by PCF. 

Kindergartens in this area include PCF Jln Kayu Blk 987B, TPBC Kindergarten, St. Francis Xavier Kindergarten, Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Kindergarten, Hanis Montessori Kindergarten (Kovan), CS Montessori Kindergarten @ Serangoon and Bethany Kindergarten. 

Typical school fee in this area is about $200, highest school fee is $800 at CS Montessori Kindergarten and $600 at Kinderland.

The highest fee by a PCF kindergarten is $200 for a term and lowest is $135 for a term.

MOE kindergarten charges a school fee of $150 for each term in kindergarten 1 and kindergarten 2. 

The number of privately-owned kindergarten in this area is rare, highest school fee is charged by Sengkang Methodist Children Centre which is at $210 for a term which should still be considered as relatively cheap compared to other area.

Kindergartens at Pasir Ris

There are 14 kindergartens in Pasir Ris, a town in the east of Singapore.

4 out of these 14 kindergartens are managed by PCF, the rest include Zulfa Kindergarten @ Pasir Ris, Sri Sathya Sai Kindergarten, Pentecost Methodist Church Kindergarten, Kidz Meadow Kindergarten and Bethesda (Pasir Ris) Kindergarten. 

All these 4 PCF kindergartens have the same school fee of $163 for Kindergarten 1 and kindergarten 2 and $16.05 for registration fee. 

The private kindergartens in this area charges a school fee of about $200 for a term for kindergarten 1 and 2 except ACES Montessori Kidz Kindergarten which charges $440 for a term.

There are 18 kindergartens in Marine Parade, a town that is next to East Coast in Singapore.

Surprisingly, there are only 3 kindergartens here are operated by PCF which is relatively small compared to other towns.

Lowest school fee by PCF kindergarten is at $96 which is located at Haig Road. Highest by PCF kindergarten is $150 for a term. 

Probably because people in this town are relatively richer. Some of the kindergartens in this area charge a very high fee like Wee Care @ The Polliwogs Kindergarten at $1176 for a term and  Kits4Kids Kindergarten at $850. Lowest in the private sector is $200 in this area.

There are about 34 kindergartens in Jurong West/Boon Lay, the very west part of Singapore. 

19 out of of these kindergartens are managed by PCF, a community foundation by PAP, the ruling party in Singapore. PCF kindergartens most charges between $105 to $140 with one or two charges $246 which is unusually high but still lower than most of the private kindergartens.

MOE Kindergartens charges $150 for a term for kindergarten 1 and kindergarten 2.

In private kindergartens, Assyakirin Mosque Kindergarten charges the lowest at $107 for a term and Summer Montessori is the highest with $570 for a term.

There are 13 kindergartens in Jurong East, a town that is developing very fast in the recent years.

6 of these kindergartens are managed by PCF and the other kindergartens in this area include Hasanah Mosque Kindergarten, The Little House (Montessori) Kindergarten, Seventh-day Adventist Kindergarten and Creative Thinkers Kindergarten. 

School fees in PCF-managed kindergartens ranges from $110 to $140 per month

School that charges the least in this area is Hasanah Mosque Kindergarten which costs parents $80 per term. The school that charges the most area are The Little House (Montessori) Kindergarten at $633, and Creative Thinkers Kindergarten at $550 per term.

There are 17 kindergartens in Hougang, an opposition-held ward. 

Despite this, the kindergartens in this area is mostly operated by PAP community foundation (PCF). In total, PCF manages 11 kindergartens in this area. 

PCF kindergartens charges a school fee ranging from $95 to $140. 

The school that charges the most is Monte Kidz World (Hougang) which costs parents $580 per month. 

In the private sector, the lowest fee is comparable to those charged by the PCF, examples are Nativity Church Kindergarten.

Kindergartens in Eunos,Singapore

Eunos is located in the eastern part of Singapore and this area has 15 kindergartens. 

5 out of these 15 kindergartens are managed by PCF, other kindergartens include White Lodge Kindergarten, Seeds D' Learning House, Pink Tower Montessori and Iman Kindergarten.

The highest school fee goes to White Lodge Kindergarten which charges parents $880 for one term in Kindergarten 1 or Kindergarten 2. Some other private kindergartens also charges very high fee like Seeds D' Learning House $600, Pink Tower Montessori $600, My Little Gems Kindergarten $500, Charis Montessori Preschool $590 and Iman Kindergarten (Tenagaville) $200

Lowest school fee goes to Muhammadiyah Kindergarten which charges parents only $100 for one term. This is even lower than the charge by the PCF-managed kindergartens which charges from $120 to $140 for one term.

Kindergartens in Clementi, Singapore

There are altogether 8 kindergartens in Clementi, a town in west part of Singapore.

6 out of 8 kindergartens are operated by PCF and the other two are Early Years Montessori Kindergarten and Clementi Woods Kindergarten.

Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 school fee for all PCF school are below $140 and registration fee is usually $16.05 which includes GST. 

Early Years Montessori Kindergarten charges a school fee of $680 for all its classes and the registration fee is $100. This made it the most expensive kindergartens in the area.

There are altogether 23 kindergartens in Choa Chu Kang, a town in western part of Singapore. 

Out of these 23 kindergartens, 11 are managed by PCF. Typical school fee for kindergarten 1 (K1)  and kindergartens 2 (K2) is 190 and 120. Common registration fee is 16.05.

For private and other non-for-profit kindergartens in this area, school fee ranges from $90 to $390 while the registration fee ranges from $20 to $100.

Kindergartens in Bukit Timah

Bukit Timah is one of the few area in which you cannot find public housing. Yes, it is a place where the riches live. This is probably one of the reasons why the school fee in the kindergartens in this area is generally much higher than many other areas in Singapore.

PCF-operated kindergarten is usually located in public housing area, this is why you can only find 1 PCF kindergarten in this area.

One thing I dislike about the education (including pre-school) system in Singapore is the nepotism-like system in school admission for both pre-school institution and primary school. This system gives admission priority for those kids whose father, or mother, or brothers have studies in the school before. In some of the kindergartens in this area, this priority is extended to even more groups which has some kind of association with the kindergartens.

Kindergartens in Bukit Panjang

Bukit Panjang is a relatively big town in the western part of Singapore. In this area, there are a total of 15 kindergartens.

Most of the kindergartens, at about 9 out of 15, are operated by PCF (PAP Community Foundation). Most of these kindergartens have a cheaper school fee except two located at Zheng Hua area which charge parents $350 for kindergarten 1 and kindergarten 2.

MOE kindergarten is new to this area and it charges a lower fee of $150 per term for kindergarten 1 and kindergarten 2.

The kindergarten that charge parents the most is White Lodge Kindergarten located at Jalan Siap. The cost to parents to enroll their children there will be $880 per term.

There are altogether 13 kindergartens in Bukit Batok, a booming town in west part of Singapore.

8 of these kindergartens, which accounted for more half of the kindergartens in the area, are operated by PCF. One of the most important feature of the kindergartens operated by PCF is that the fee charged is usually the lowest in the town.

Although PCF kindergartens have the same name, but the fee charged vary from kindergarten to kindergartens. In the example of Bukit Batok, most of the kindergartens operated by PCF charge a fee of $118 for Kindergarten 2, but there is one or two charge a fee of $130 for the same level.

Highest fee charged is by one private kindergarten Canossian Convent Kindergarten which charge parents $730 for a term.

Kindergartens in Bishan Singapore

There are about 11 kindergartens in Bishan, a booming town in Singapore. 5 of them are operated by the PAP community foundation.

There are many private residence in this town which means the population in this area is still relatively small compared to mature town. This can explain why the number of kindergartens is relatively small.

The PCF kindergartens charge the lowest school fee of slightly more than $100, this is followed by Kindergarten@An-Nahdhah which charges about $130 per term. 

Highest school fee is charged by Divinity Kindergarten at $600, followed by Agape Montessori House Kindergarten which charge $500.

Kindergartens in Bedok, Singapore

Bedok is a mature housing estate in Singapore. This probably explain why it has a relatively large number of kindergartens in this area. In total, there are 32 kindergartens in this area.

Out of the 32 kindergartens in this area, 13 are operated by the PCF(PAP community foundation). 

It is a bit surprise for me to see so many kindergartens in this area as Bedok is a relatively old housing area with a large number of elderly living there. This means that the population of small kids in this area should be small. 

As expected, the school fee per term charged by the kindergartens for different levels varies from kindergarten to kindergarten. The lowest charge is by the PCF kindergartens where the fee for a term is about less than 200. The highest fee charged is by some private kindergartens in which they charge fee as high as 500 for a term.

Kindergartens in Ang Mo Kio

Ang Mo Kio is an relatively old town in Singapore, number of young couple in this housing estate is diminishing. However, there are altogether 16 kindergartens in this area.

More than half of the kindergartens in Ang Mo Kio are operated by PAP Community Foundation, the rest are Brainy Juniors Kindergarten, Bethesda (AMK) Kindergarten, Ang Mo Kio Methodist Kindergarten and Al - Muttaqin Mosque Kindergarten.

Because of a large number of PCF operated kindergartens in this area, the school fee in this area is relatively lower compare to some other area. Highest school fee is probably $384 charged by Brainy Juniors Kindergarten.

It is believed that with decreasing population of young couple, there will be less and less kindergartens in this area.

Kindergartens in Sembawang

Sembawang is relatively new housing estate, meaning that there are a lot of kids living in the area. 

But there are only 9 kindergartens in area, mainly because of its relatively small population compared to other housing estate.

The kindergartens in Sembawang are mainly operated by PCF. PCF operates 7 out of 9 kindergartens in this area.The other two are Zulfa Kindergarten and Hope Community Kindergarten.

In terms of school fee, the highest is 200 for K2 and is charged Hope Community Kindergarten.
