Baby food recipes for 6 months

At 6 months, most baby will lose the tongue extrusion reflex, this means many of them are ready for the solid food.

Solid food helps to complement breast milk or formula milk. For example, breast milk is not rich in iron, iron in solid food can help to supplement this nutrition needed for the healthy development of the baby. One of the baby food that will be introuced is spinach juice. Spinach juice is rich in iron.

At 6 months, the solid food that the baby can enjoy is still very limited. Food that are usually allowed fall into two categories: fruit or vegetable. Food that is allowed include the following: apple puree, avocado puree, mashed banana, pumpkin puree, pear puree, rice soup, rice cereal, sweet potato puree, peas puree, carrot puree, plum puree, baked carrots.

Out of the many food mentioned, rice soup is probably easiest to prepare if you like to eat porridge. You just need to make sure you have enough water while you are preparing porridge for yourself or other family members.

For rice cereal, you can also easily get it from the supermarket.

For the fruit, you will just need the right tool to puree it and make it easy for your baby to swallow.

For the vegetable, you will need to cook it so that it is suitable for consumption. Furthermore, you should also puree it so that your baby can consume it.

Food mentioned above usually will not cause allergy or other adverse reaction. However, it is recommended that you should wait for three to five days before introducing new food to your baby.

Another thing to look out is choking. Do not feed your baby a large spoon of food at one time.
